This portal provides a unified access point for the several Web Applications and Services that have been developed with the context of the LOCAL research project. This project ended in June 2006. However, most of this applications and network services are still being improved and tested.
Location Server: This is a network services (http interface) that provides access to data about the use of the WiFi campus wide wireless network. Among other functionalities, it allows to find where a given user is located within the network. The use of this service is restricted to authorized users and only internally. However, there is a Test version of this service, widelly accessible, that can be used for testing, application development, and debugging.
Symbolic Contextualizer: This is a platform to manage simbolic representations of the space - Symbolic Space Models. It includes a network service (http interface) from where to perform queries to the model. It also includes two web applications (Symbolic Models Browser and Symbolic Models Visual Browser) that can be used to browse through the models, that includes the capability to jump from one server to another.
Geographic Contextualizer: This is a platform to manage geographic representations of the space, based on a multi-layer aggregation of points/lines/polygons features. It includes a network service (http interface) from where to perform queries to the model, in an approach similar to geocoding. It also includes a web application (Web Form) that can be used to query the model using a browser.
Concave Hull: This a spin-off of the LOCAL project in the area of computational geometry. Here, it refers to a web application from where the Concave Hull algorithm can be used on-line.
